Everyone gets pre-marital counseling. We are all bombarded by sitcoms, soap operas, Hollywood films, romantic novels, pop music, counsel from humanistic psychologists, the sheer example (or lack of it) from relatives and peers which all contribute to what may be perceived to be expectations in marital relationships. Amid all the hodge-podge of pluralistic ideas, a syncretistic and cultural view of marriage is evolving that is a radical departure from God’s original design. Some have gone as far as pushing to legitimize warped pictures of marriage, such as same-sex marriages, and their agenda is to make it acceptable to all by having congress back it up through legislation.
